Cotton is taking a major hit from the combined impact of the US-China tariff war, decelerating global growth, a strong dollar, and weakening fabric demand. Global cotton prices are down 25% from a year ago and further declines will follow if stockpiles continue to rise. With prices at 3-year lows, a trade agreement between the US and China could quickly turn things around.
