Structural issues in the US and international housing markets have pushed more and more high-earners into renting their homes instead of buying them. Given the growth potential of this segment and an existing inventory shortage, build-to-rent is an increasingly attractive strategy for housing developers, homebuilders and property investors. Companies that service residential renters will continue to deliver alpha to investors in the medium-term despite a few macro and micro clouds on the horizon.
