The extent to which stocks in the wind power sector have lagged their solar counterparts this past year belies how fast the wind power sector is growing. Wind farm installations smashed records last year, both in the US and Europe. With developers rushing to start new projects before a federal tax credit expires at year-end, the wind sector could experience enough of a boost to beat the broad market in 2020, which would mark the first such instance in 5 years.
