The FDA and a number of major pharmaceutical firms have warned of drug shortages resulting from chemical plant shut downs across China in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak. However, the FDA confirmed last weekend that the first virus-induced shortage has already occurred, much sooner than anyone had forecast. Medical supplies also continue to run low and face shortage due to huge consumer demand that has shown no signs of declining.
