Long time efforts by the Vietnamese government to position the nation as a direct competitor to China are finally paying off now that the US-China tariff war has escalated to new heights. Vietnam’s blistering economic growth, rising exports and increased investment activity make for a winning combination despite a few growing pains. Vietnamese stocks have lagged the US equity markets this year, but MRP believes they will turn around.
