The Dollar has continued its powerful run-up throughout 2019, even in the face of possible rate cuts and rising US inflation. While the greenback’s strength has racked corporate earnings and US exports, our analysis of US and Eurozone real rates and PPPs shows that current Dollar strength is likely unsustainable. Vulnerability to intervention from the Fed and Treasury Dept. also looms large in the coming months.
