The film industry has been hard hit by the coronavirus, forcing theaters across the country to shut, and studios to halt production of new features. Studios are set to send some films straight to streaming, as nobody knows when Americans will be allowed to return to the movies and, more importantly, when they feel it will be safe to. However, theater chains and investors may be able to look to China for some insight, as their industry has begun a slow crawl toward recovery. The country’s just begun re-opening 500 of the nation’s 70,000 in the aftermath of their own Coronavirus shutdown.
